Hello friends! I am Pastor Carla Blakley, the new pastor at Lakeview United Ecumenical partnership and Yellow Grass United Lutheran Partnership! I am so excited to be a part of your community!
I have been ordained for 27 years, married to Brent, a teacher 32 years, currently at Sheldon Williams Collegiate, and we are the parents to four wonderful adults! Brent and I were born and raised in Regina. I have a B.A. and M.A in Religious Studies, and a M.Div from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. I am extensively trained in grief counselling and in hearing AA 5th steps. I have served as a parish pastor in Moose Jaw and Regina, in addition to being Assistant to the National Lutheran Bishop in South and Central America and most recently was the Community Relations Director for Canadian Lutheran World Relief in Winnipeg, where I commuted between Regina and Winnipeg.
The pandemic has changed many things for many people. It has changed our world and our communities, and we have gained some important insights into the necessity of community and connection.
I am happy to be a parish pastor in Regina once again and in a unique call in the partnership between Lakeview United and Yellow Grass United Lutheran.
At this time, blurring lines between denominations, focusing on our similarities rather than our differences, and working together in areas of social justice and outreach is very exciting.
This is a unique opportunity for Lutherans and United folks to come together, to work together, and to reach out together.
If you are looking for a church home, this is a special invitation and welcome to you. Sunday worship is in person at 10:30 AM, in-person and online. We have great music from shared Lutheran/United traditions and in a range of styles, and Sunday school for your children. (I like to find cheerios on the pews after services and love the sound of babies and toddlers).
Lakeview is a 2S LGBTIQ+ welcoming congregation.

If you need a wedding, baptism, funeral, confirmation class (Lutheran United and multifaith), a friend, a coffee chat, a theological discussion, a hospital visit, I am here for you.
