2023 Christmas Hamper Project

Lakeview provided 12 Christmas Hampers to Albert Community School in 2023.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this Outreach Project with cash, item donations and knitting. Thank you to Frank McNally from Abadoo Marketing who donated new clothing. And a very big thank you to the volunteers who helped to put together and deliver the Hampers to Albert Community School on December 21, 2023.

The following thank you email was received from the school.

January 3, 2024

Albert Community School is a pre-k to grade 8 school in Regina's North Central neighborhood. There are approximately 285 students and 35 staff that attend the school. The student population is approximately 97% Indigenous with several new Canadian families. Albert Community School has a full-time nutritionist that feeds all students breakfast and lunch each day.

Many families live in extreme poverty and food insecurity is a real problem in the community. Some of these families rely on the Food Bank and school to meet their basic needs. Each day our school feeds all students that walk through the front doors. The Christmas Hampers donated by Lakeview United Church this year were greatly appreciated by our staff and families. On behalf of Albert Community School, we would like to extend a thank you to Lakeview United Church for their generosity and kindness.

A special thank you to Kathy White, Joyce Allen and Rhonda Korpan for working with us to plan and deliver the hampers to Albert Community School.

Thank you,

Greg Korpan
